We met Leslie at The A Bridal Show in Reston earlier this year. From the moment we met, we knew that Leslie had a party “my life lit” vibe that we really wanted to be around and capture on her wedding day! Leslie and Elgin got the dream team (that’s both of us–Eric & Alisa–the husband and wife owners of Modern Frames Photography). Eric spent the morning getting ready with Leslie and her ladies, and OMG were they hilarious, fun, sweet, and gorgeous! Alisa got to hang with the fellas in the church, watching the Redskins game and chillin. The ceremony was great in their childhood church, Shiloh Baptist Church, and led by good ol’ Uncle Willie, and featuring a lovely Bible verse from Elgin’s sister.
The reception at the brand new Embassy Suites Springfield was tippy-top. As a 4-year veteran of wedding photography, we value great catering, and the food was really, really good! Let’s not go on for paragraphs about the broccolini, steak, fish, chicken, etc. And go back to the tasteful uplights, and simple, elegant details (candles, centerpieces, flatware, chandeliers). What an amazing party it was (especially for a Sunday night!). Everyone was breaking it down for a least a little bit. 🙂
The most touching part of the day was the love. We say that a lot, since we photograph weddings, but every single person at the ceremony was tearing up (including us!) from the moment Leslie sang “The One He Kept For Me” before processing down the aisle, to words of advice from Leslie’s great aunt about how to have a happy and strong marriage. The love continued to the touching toasts by the Maid of Honor and the Best Man. They threw in a few jokes, but those toasts were so special and all about how Leslie and Elgin are perfect for each other. Then they briefly shared their story and prepared for their married life as a complete family.
Please enjoy a few sneaks from this perfect day (despite the rain and overcast skies!). <3
