While Alisa and I were on vacation in Ireland, I got an email from Danielle about shooting their wedding next year. I love getting inquiries for weddings and I always suggest meeting up in person to get to know each other, chat more about the specifics of the wedding, and discuss some boring contract stuff (i.e., when do I get to eat dinner?!). But sometimes, as in the case of busy schedules or distance, it’s not possible to meet up in person.
Even without meeting up first, by the time I met Danielle and Jared for their engagement session, they felt like fast friends! They mentioned that they (much like Alisa and I) value candid wedding moments the most. And documentary/photo-journalistic/candid photos are my favorite part of any wedding, but I also enjoy doing posed, epic portraits. So we scheduled the engagement session for sunset at the Georgetown Waterfront in DC. They mentioned that they had not been in front of the camera too much and didn’t know much about posing or modeling. After their session, I now suspect them of lying. The entire session, these two gorgeous humans were nailing every pose with minimal direction, AND their cuteness and love was adorable!
We finished up the session with dinner at Filomena – and it was perfect. Here are a few from that perfect day <3
